Spelling Bee 2017

by j o
On Thursday March 14th, the pupils in 5th and 6th class took part in a Spelling Bee. This is a nationwide spelling competition which helps promote literacy in a fun way. The pupils were taken through four rounds;
Easy
Medium
Hard and
Knockout
The standard was very high and the competition was fierce but in the end only four amazing spellers were left standing. They were, Owen, Luke , Jennifer and Karl. Some of the words they were able to spell were “Labyrinth”, “Millennium” and “Olfactory”. All four finalists were amazing but in the end Owen held out to take 1st place. We all wish Owen the best of luck in the next round of the competition.
