Easter Newsletter 2013

Dear parents,

Once again we have had a busy time since Christmas in school. A lot of good things have happened as you will see below.

We are busy with preparations for Confirmation and First Holy Communion, which will take place on April 19th and May 18th. Our thanks to Aileen Collins, Aisling Johnston, Dawn, Father Niall, Father Richie, Kay, Noel and Cora from Meath Street Parish for their huge contribution and work with the preparations.

We are delighted to have opened our new interactive resource room this term. The room is full of bright sensory and therapeutic equipment that the children can enjoy.

We have also refurbished our computer room this term. We are delighted with the new laptops and we invested a lot in the room so we have a large number of machines to suit every class.

We are so proud of our 6th class who recently starred in a video invite for U2 (You Tube: U2 Rap) inviting them to come along to their show in the Helix on May 1st. It was a great experience for the children and they were so lucky to be a part of it. Well done!

Boy’s &Girls Soccer Blitz

The 5th and 6th class boys took part in the annual soccer blitz in St. Catherine’s on the 4th of March. It was our first time bringing two teams to the blitz and everyone was really excited walking up the road. We played several schools from the Dublin 8 area. At the end of the day we were presented with school bags and footballs. We can’t wait to go again next year! by: Alex E.

7 girls from 5th and 6th class took part in the Girls soccer blitz on March 1st. It was really great fun to compete against other local schools. Unfortunately, we didn’t make the semi-finals, although we had fun and that’s what it’s all about! by:Sofia & Emma.

I am urging all of our parents to monitor their children’s attendance closely and to make sure that your child comes to school everyday. Our school attendance record has improved immensely and we are trying to maintain this. Also a reminder that school starts at:8.50am each morning.

Thank you sincerely to all our parents who have been supportive and involved with St Audoen’s. I look forward to thanking you all in person when we have our Family Day in June.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter
