Funky Shoe Day/Mental Health Awareness Day

Funky Shoe Day/Mental Health Awareness Day
by

On Thursday May 21st we had our Funky Shoe Day in St Audoen’s NS. Children wore odd shoes and odd socks with their uniforms. Funky Shoe/Sock Day raises awareness about our Mental Health and Well-being. In St Audoen’s we encourage the children to think about ‘Walking in Someone Else’s Shoes, to promote empathy and understanding for people going through a difficult time. We asked children to donate 50c or a €1 on Thursday which the school will send to St Patrick’s University Hospital, James St, Dublin 8.

Despite the serious message, we had a great day with lots of laughs and spot prizes. So far we have raised almost €200; well done to all the boys and girls and their families who kindly donated to this great cause.
